Orders

Once you place your order, it goes immediately to our warehouse for processing and therefore, it can be difficult or impossible to make changes. If you would like to request a change/additions to an existing order please call us as soon as possible so we can see if that is an option. A fee of $8.50 will apply to your additional courier order (rather than our full shipping fee) and this additional order will be on its own separate invoice. We will do our best to locate the original order and send the additional order together with it, but this may not always be possible. Of course, there are no fees for changes/additions to orders going with GVF deliveries, however timing remains important and changes or additions that occur late in the day may not be successful if your delivery is scheduled for the next business day. Please always strive to complete your shopping list before placing an order to avoid any additional fees or unnecessary disappointment.

The order is still waiting to be transferred to shipping team, Order is being fulfilled from multiple warehouses or check the order confirmation you received to ensure items are not backordered.

Check order confirmation or packing slip for back ordered items,Items (such as liquids/oversized/dangerous goods) can be separated at courier sorting facilities and can come on separate days, contact within 2-3 business days if not arrived. Order is being fulfilled from multiple warehouses.

Invoices/receipts are now issued by email/mail after your order has been shipped, if you want to change the method on how you receive your invoices/reciepts, please contact us.

Shipping

We ship across Canada, using either Canpar, Purolator, or Midland Couriers (depending on the region).

We do not ship to the United States of America at this time.

Our system is not currently set up to automatically send out tracking information If you would like to receive a tracking code for your order please contact us at 1-866-527-6229 or Send Email, be sure to have the conformation number ready.

Couriers will not deliver to a PO Box and instead require a physical address with a civic number and road name (ie 123 Main Street).

Yes, you will be able to see any applicable shipping charges as a part of your check-out process when placing your order.

Yes! GVF already deliveries to you this is the BEST way to ship your order because you will never have shipping charges! You will have the opportunity to let us know to ship with your next delivery when placing your order online. Please choose the “with my next feed delivery” option when checking out.

We ship orders via courier, Grand Valley Fortifiers feed truck fleet, and along with weekly shipments to our Western Order & Pick-Up locations.  We also occasionally use other carriers for large (skid) shipments.

For most items, free shipping by "ground" courier would apply to orders $500 and over, before tax. Some items, as indicated by the brown truck symbol, do not qualify for free shipping and have additional freight charges.
Free shipping of skid items/larger orders applies to orders over $2,500 before tax.
Free shipping to a Western Order & Pick-up Point is always an option.
Air freight is sometimes an option, but the full cost is at the customer's expense.

In most cases, courier orders less than $500 before tax will have a $26 shipping fee. Truck only/skid orders less than $2,500 before tax will have a $250 shipping fee. Items identified with the “additional freight” icon (brown truck symbol) do not qualify for regular free shipping amounts, however, many of these additional freight fees can be waived at larger order thresholds. Our standard shipping is "ground" courier. If "air freight" is requested, the full freight charge is the customer's responsibility.

Additional freight charges apply to bulky, heavy items, as well as to items identified as dangerous goods for transport. Items that have additional shipping charges are identified with a truck symbol. This additional fee is not the same for all applicable products.

In most cases, if the order is placed by 1:30pm EST, we ship it out that same day. Orders placed after 1:30pm EST (or on weekends or holidays) will leave the following business day.

To Ontario and Quebec – 1 to 2 business days.
To the Maritimes – 2 business days.
To the Western provinces – 4 to 6 business days.

Unlike in the past, online orders are now processed automatically as they are placed, and the automatic system will treat each order as an individual entity. This means if two orders are placed and neither one qualifies for free shipping on its own, you will be charged shipping on both orders, and they will be shipped separately rather than packaged together.

There are currently no shipping charges to have your order sent to any one of our Western Order & Pick-up locations (Winnipeg, Brandon, Swift Current, Red Deer, or Lethbridge) for you to pick up there.  Shipments to those locations leave our Cambridge warehouse twice per week and arrive at their destination the following week. You will be contacted once it arrives and is ready to pick up.

Returns

We are committed to your satisfaction and are happy to offer you a return/refund or exchange within 45 days of your original purchase (some conditions apply). Please contact us for Return Authorization before sending or bringing anything back to us.  Read our full Return Policy details here.

Most definitely! We advise you try on your new boots and coveralls in the house (and not in the barn) as we can only accept them back for refund/exchange if they are in clean and new condition and in original packaging (ie if boots and coveralls are dirty, smelly, damaged, or clearly “worn” we will be unable to refund or exchange them for you). These products returned for exchange / refund would be returned at the customer's expense.

Farmers Depot Accounts

If you would like to set up an account to charge items to and pay afterwards when you receive the product and invoice, then we require you to fill out a Customer Information Form (credit application). Once that is submitted and approved, you will be able to charge to your account without paying upfront. If you are wanting to pay by credit card, then an account/file will automatically be created for you with credit card terms when you place your first order.

Although most of the products we sell are geared towards the farming community, you do not need to be a farmer or live on a farm to purchase from Farmers Depot. There are certain products, however, that we can only sell to farms/farmers and those with certain licenses or qualifications.

You can only use the "Reset my Password" button 2-3 times in a row before the system locks you out - contact us to enter your order, before you try to create another account. Often times you can try the next day to reset the password, or we can have our System Administrator send you another temporary password.

Prior to December 2018 many antibiotics were available to producers over the counter (OTC) here at Farmers Depot. When new regulations took effect in December 2018, we opened Farmers Pharmacy Rx within our Cambridge warehouse where your veterinarian could send your prescription to be filled – much like a “human” pharmacy. Unfortunately, we decided to close Farmers Pharmacy Rx in the Fall of 2021 and are no longer able to offer this option. Antibiotics must now be obtained from your veterinarian.

CCIA/CSIP RFID tags (registered tags for shipping) are usually registered to you within 24 hours so by the time they get to you they are often ready to use.

Although we sometimes have some numbered ear tags available in our clearance section, we do not stock numbered ear tags as a rule. We would be happy to custom order your numbered tags for you.

Due to constant changes in this industry's supply chain, please ask us for up-to-date ETA's on custom numbered tags.

Pesticide License Information

Domestic labelled pesticides and anything not containing pesticides (ie bait stations, sticky tapes/traps, fly bags, snap traps) can still be purchased without a pesticide license.

Since January 1st, 2021, Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Newfoundland, and Quebec all require producers to have a valid pesticide license to purchase Class C pesticides. In Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta a Farm Declaration form is still sufficient at this time and a pesticide license is not yet required.

Domestic labeled products can be purchased without a pesticide license. These items will not have the shield symbol attached to them (since products requiring a pesticide license are identified by the shield symbol)   Check with us directly for the most up to date options.

Pesticide licenses are provincially governed and administered so each province has their own. In Ontario, go to www.opep.ca or call 1-800-652-8573. For all other provinces you should be able to Google your province followed by the words “pesticide license” to find the licensing body you need (ie British Columbia pesticide license). In most cases you must pay a nominal fee, take a course, and pass a test to obtain your license. Alternatively you will find links to each province's pesticide license information on our "Web Links" page, https://www.farmersdepot.ca/links to visit the page now.
