Feed salt powder on an energy rich carrier, which forms an isotone liquid when dissolved in water. VZ-powder is fully soluble in water and should be administered after long-distance transport, as is often the case when housing fresh animals. Potassium is important for normal muscle function, while magnesium contributes to good electrolyte balance and is important for energy metabolism and contributes to nerve impulses between (nerve) cells. Dosage: You take care of the need for liquids by providing a VZ-solution a few hours after arrival. Dissolve 30 grams of VZ-powder in 1 litre of water at 40º C and administer in the place of artificial milk. Administer 1 litre of the solution daily per 10 kg of bodyweight, e.g. a 40 kg calf should have 4 litres of the solution, and a 2 kg piglet needs 0.2 litres. Do not give calves VZ-solution for longer than 1.5 days. After that, they should have 1 or 2 feeds with milk.
